sorry about the long wait

Sorry about the long wait i took a very long nap (ANNOYINGLY enough my brothers chose to join me...)

okay so today (+ all the days i missed ) my trainer(carly) was giving her worse pay back ever...

Nobody pushes me around!

There I was just sitting on my castle. I was in the middle of my fifth nap of the day, and my brother comes along to claim his territory. Hey -- we both like sitting on the castle, it's very comfortable and you get a great angle for yelling at those squirrels. The problem is when Cassidy wants to sit in the same spot. Well, at this point we just stared at each other, giving each other the evil eye -- we didn't resort to whining, or hissing, but it was escalating that's for sure.

Then the attack comes, Cassidy thinks he has the upper hand, but I'm ready for him. Don't worry, I didn't get hurt at all and I gave my brother a few smacks. Then we did hiss.

After the big fight, you may notice that nobody got to sit up on top of the castle. Hey, I really didn't feel like sitting there anyway. At least Cassidy didn't get to sit there, and that's what counts

Hunting

The catfood I'm fed at the McGregor's house isn't too bad, it's not Fancy Feast or anything but it's all right. Sometimes thought, you have to go off the reservation to get the food that you really want.

Case in point, I'm a cat, cat's like to find little animals and eat them and nobody does that better than me. This afternoon it took me quite a while to track down this little lizard. I had to climb the screened-in porch trying to knock it down onto the ground.

Now the McGregor's have learned to keep the door shut so I can't just scamper around outside, except for the large male, sometimes he leaves the door open. Not today though, so the only way to get a lizard is if the family lets one in (Bonus!) or if a tail peeks in under the door. If that happens my trusty paw can pull the lizard under the door and then the feast begins.

Most cats just eat their food, but where is the fun in that? It's much more fun to play with the food before you eat it. I have seen young humans do this all the time. I like to take the lizard and hold him down with my paw. Then I like to let him run a little bit and catch him all over again. It's not as fun as the initial hunt, but it is still pretty good entertainment, and it doesn't diminish the taste one bit. After a bit of play though, it's time to eat. A few gulps and the lizard has officially become cat food!

The only problem is, my stomach is not always strong enough to digest a lizard, if this is the case, I just vomit it back up. yeah, it's gross, but at least I don't have to clean it up. That's what people are for.

Well, it's been a busy few days of sleeping this week. I wanted to show you a picture of one of my pals. His name is Miggy, but I call him "Grandma" because he's pretty old. We always let him have first crack at the food, pretty much because he is always hungry. He's pretty old, but friendly, he's always good for a lick. I usually play with Cassie, but once in a while Grandma is fun to play with. He's usually pretty warm and you can always find him curled up somewhere on the carpet. He likes to sit on things, If there's a plastic bag on the floor, he goes and sits right on it. He may be slow and cranky and always hungry, but I'm sure glad "Grandma" is around.

Sometimes I get tired of sitting around the house all day. I like to go outside and sit around out there. It's not really outside though, I tried running out into the grass but a screen wall stops me. So I like to go out there and just look around. There's lots of animals and bugs to see and sometimes there is a blade of grass to chew on. Yum yum yum! Anyway, when I sit outside, I usually go to my castle. It's great to just sit on and look around. The great part about it is you can get so high. Usually when I want to climb up high in the air I have to climb on the screen and that hurts my claws! With my castle, it is easy to see far into the grass forest. I was sitting out there a little bit today. Not all day though, I don't like sitting out there all day. I like to change it up a bit and go outside for about 20 minutes, then inside for about an hour, then outside for 15 minutes and then inside for a nap, then outside for 15 more minutes. Then I start that schedule all over again.

Hello everyone

Well, to start with, my name is Elphie, and I'm the McGregor's cat. It's a pretty good life. The McGregor's are a nice family. They have an old male and a young male, an old female and a young female. They give me food pretty regularly and don't lock me out on the screened in porch that much. The young female is especially my favorite. I let her pick me up and her bed is pretty comfortable to sleep in.

Here's a picture of me, pretty cute huh? This is the young female who takes good care of me. I'm usually pretty shy about taking pictures, but I think I look pretty good here.
